Airline Promotions Offer Fare Deals, Rooms At Hotels In Myanmar, Thailand, China, HK

Several of Asia's regional airlines have introduced travel promotions offering specially priced air fares, or air fares packaged with accommodation at Samui, Chiang Mai, Vientiane, Siem Reap, Mandalay or Yangon hotels depending on the chosen destination.

Bangkok Airways launched the ‘Bin Dee Yu Dee' package that includes air fare and accommodation and is valid for booking and travel, ex Bangkok, until October 31, 2014. The destinations within Thailand available in the promotion are Sukhothai, Lampang, Udon Thani, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Krabi, Trat and Samui.

The international destinations are Vientiane and Luang Prabang in Laos, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Yangon and Mandalay in Myanmar and the Maldives.

The package to Yangon, for example, is priced from Bt23,550 and to Mandalay from Bt24,550. This includes return air fare, two nights' accommodation at Mandalay or Yangon hotels and all meals during the trip. To Siem Reap the package price starts at Bt19,100 with the same inclusions.

Also based in Thailand, budget airline Nok Air's ‘Happy Holiday Promotion' provides savings of around 20 per cent on standard fares to a range of domestic points including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, Ranong, Phitsanulok, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Surat Thani, Mae Sot, Roi Et, Loei, Buri Ram and Nakhon Si Thammarat.

One way fares from Bangkok, inclusive of airport taxes and surcharges, start at Bt990. A Bt1,190 fare is also on offer to Myanmar's Yangon.

While bookings for the Nok Air promotion closed in early May, the travel period is from May 23, 2014 through to March 28, 2015.

AirAsia, which was named ‘World's Leading Low Cost Airline' at the World Travel Awards 2013 in Qatar, is one carrier which offers on its website the different categories of Flight, Flight + Hotel and Hotel for when it comes to making a booking. Under Flight + Hotel, the user can search and book air fare along with accommodation at a choice of hotels in Beijing or hotels in Hong Kong, for example. Under the category of Hotel, there are hotels in Myanmar, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Malaysia, Japan, India, the Philippines, South Korea and other destinations served by AirAsia to peruse.

Bangkok Airways, Nok Air and AirAsia are among the various regional airlines operating in Asia, with route networks covering primary and secondary points throughout the region.
