It is not the number of article directories that are included in the software but the quality of the directories and how targeted they are to the type of potential reader you have in mind. Biz-op based topic articles might not grab the attention of those reading religious based articles directories or dog loving directories (Yes, they do exist.) Also to be considered is the amount of volume the directory attacks. Extremely low volume directories might just be added as a sales pitch to help the sales of the article submission software. In short, quality wins over quantity.
The categories chosen in the submission process are also important. Remember, it is the targeted audience you want your article to perform in front of. Loosely throwing it into a category which has nothing to do with the subject you wish to discuss simply misses that audience you want to reach. It is the same with directories that do not have the category you are aiming at. Scatter gun approach might make the numbers look good but it does not do a lot to attract people to your web site which is what it is all about. Economy of effort wins as it is more efficient and productive in the long term.
Automated article submission, or just a fancy title with a lot of manual clicking and form filling. It makes for a disappointing experience to come across article submission software, buy it and then find it only reaches fifty percent of the directories previously set up. This leaves a lot of manual entry of information form filling and submission. If the sales pitch has not been read through carefully then the limitations of the software can lead to disappointment. The solution is to check out and sit through the demonstration videos. Yes we all get excited when we find something to alleviate the drudgery and tedious side of the work involved, but we should not allow the natural exuberance to override our common sense approach to things. (Yes, I am guilty of exactly that. That is why I can recognise it. I’ve done it so many times before.)
Just few tips on the writing of the article; make sure you have knowledge on the topic you wish to discuss. Do some research- even buy the product it shines through when read by a third party increasing your reputation. Be brave and say what you did not like about the product. It could be that would attract someone else. Do not hype it, the product, into the stratosphere. These pages are a turn off. We don’t want to do that. In using automated or packaged articles make sure they are original after you edit them, not just a few changed titles or first words in each paragraph. A one percent change does not make for interesting reading if there are another three articles on the same page. (That is assuming it gets past the duplication check.) One last parting thought; make sure there is a link back to your site. It sounds obvious but best to avoid basic mistakes. There are demo videos available within the sales literature always best practice to check them out.
