Erase bad credit, and your life will be easier. Why? It's becoming commonplace for everyone from employers, landlords, employers, and creditors to look at your credit history to base their decisions upon. Not fair, but that's the way it is. So how do you erase bad credit?

First off, how do you get bad credit? It can be anything from missing payments to filing for bankruptcy. Obviously some things (like bankruptcy) will knock your credit score down more than others. In addition, some things stay on your credit history longer than others. For example, a bankruptcy will be on your history for at least 7 years.

Ok, so how can you erase bad credit? Simply put, you show the credit bureaus that you are responsible with money. Start by taking out a very small personal loan and paying it back according to the terms of the loan. Something as simple as opening a new checking and savings account also goes a long way towards rebuilding your credit.

There is no simple way to erase bad credit, and anyone that tells you differently is probably just trying to sell you snake oil. Persistence and good money management is the only key to getting back on financial track.

You will soon begin to receive offers from credit card companies. Be careful! Most of the creditors making these offers require you to pay fees and charges. They probably will not help your credit score much anyway.

If you find yourself wanting to erase bad credit, remember that it is possible if you take it slow, pay bills on time, and practice good money management.

Debt settlement is a way for you to potentially save thousands of dollars, and be on your way to a healthy credit score.
