Finding Keywords...The Hard Way And The Easy Way

In today's lesson, we're going to continue to talk about the most important and critical Internet Marketing skill you can develop - keyword research:

How can you possibly know the keyword phrases that people use for search terms on the search engines, like Google? Fortunately, there is more than one free keyword tool that will do just that.

If you have an idea of what market you want to sell in, enter it into one of these resources and you'll get a list of keywords currently being used to find information on that topic. Here are some free keyword tools for you:

WordTracker has a free Keyword Suggestion Tool at http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/. This will give you a list, in descending order by number of monthly searches, of the keywords related to your market.

Nice, but not enough. How do you know how strong your competition is for these keywords? You don't, so let's look at another method to find great keywords.

Google has some useful tools. The Google AdWords Keyword Tools at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal. The google adwords tool, also known as the google keyword tools, will allow you to enter one keyword or phrase per line and show you keyword ideas AND will show you how competitive the keywords are, plus the search volume.

We're getting warmer, but we're not there yet.

Let's look at another Google tool. The Google Traffic Estimator at https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox.

Take the keywords from the Keyword tool and enter then here. Now, you have the search volumes for a keyword AND you know the average "cost per click" in Google AdWords. We won't touch on Google AdWords in this lesson, because we're not trying to be an adwords consultant here, BUT the "Estimated Avg. CPC" (Cost Per Click) column tells us if the market perceives this as a "hot" keyword and worth considering. Anything over 20 cents per click is possibly a hot keyword.

If you want a "one-stop shopping" place for keyword research, then Micro Niche Finder at http://tinyurl.com/mxchnf is for you. It's not free, but it's very reasonable, and can save you hours of keyword research.

There is no such thing as a guaranteed search engine ranking, or even guaranteed high search engine ranking, but you can improve search engine ranking with them.

OK, now that you know how to research keywords, it's time to find hot keywords in niche markets that you can dominate. Later, we'll be offering courses on affiliate programs pay per click, click pay per ppc, click pay per script, click pay per submissionm and engine marketing ppc rank search.
