To truly understand how a chain drive works you need to look at what makes it work. They are made up of a chain which is then connected between a sprocket at the transmission output and a sprocket that is attached to the rear wheel. So what are the other features of this chain? It is basically made of alternating inner and outer links that are assembled in pivots by bearing pins and bushes. So what other forms are available? Another common one is a unity chain drive.
What makes up this one are sprockets attached to each roller. When this chain is in use the sprockets of the roller have only several teeth exposed to the chain. Without all of these aspects and without these aspects being maintained it is fair to say that the job this piece of machinery was designed to carry out would be jeopardized. So what exactly is it this piece of equipment does? The main job is to transfer power from one shaft to another through the use of sprockets and an endless chain. They can be used on engines as a timer or on other pieces of machinery they can be the means of timing the opening of valves.
