By using PPC, you are not paying for an assurance, and you are not getting charged to load an advertisement on a page. You are actually paying for a real outcome, a click. By using PPC, you do not pay if no one observes your advertisement, and you do not even get charged if a person does notice your ad but does not make a click on it. You get charged only when somebody clicks your ad. You are paying a PPC corporation every time somebody clicks a link directing him or her to your Web site.

The strategy behind a PPC publishing is simple. When a particular advertiser joins some kind of PPC program by a search engine, he starts his account by depositing some amount into his account. The amount that has to be deposited initially depends on the search engine. After that the advertiser designs small ads that include text or graphics of his product. The advertiser also decides the fact where his or her ad should be placed. This means he has the right to pick the keywords with which he wants to associate his ads. Also the advertiser decides the amount he will be paying each time some one clicks on the ad. When someone searches a particular keyword, the search engine along with the search results also places the relevant ads on the search engine results page. When some one makes a click on the ad placed on the search engine results page, he is taken to the advertiser’s web site and the advertiser is charged for the click

As compared to the banner ads, the PPC publishing is much more cheap. It also has an advantage that it targets the consumers better as compared to the banner ads. The banner ads were placed in front of people who were really not interested in buying the products that you sell. With PPC, the search engines present the ads in front of people who are actually finding something those are relevant to the keywords you are related to.

For a successful PPC publishing, it is important that you select the right keywords. The keywords should be able to target the right audience. For example if you are into the business of selling electronic toys and the keyword that you select is toys then you have probably chosen a wrong keyword. The people who are in search of buying ordinary toys will also land up to your web page and will not actually buy anything. But you will be charged for the click. Effectively, the click has not been converted to revenue.

The next important point that is to be kept in mind in PPC publishing is that you analyze your keywords properly. A good research is the key to success. It is a good idea to visit the competitor’s web page and find out what strategies he is using, what keywords he has selected. Also select the keywords that are priced low but are often searched by people to get to your web site.
