A brief history of Bill Britt, Amway legends of the rich and free:

Bill Britt was a frustrated white collar City Manager in North Carolina before becoming an Amway Legend. (This was more than 30 years ago). Ever since being involved, Bill has had an uncanny knack for breaking records in the MLM profession. It is estimated that he has somewhere between 2-5 million members of his Amway team, which is larger than any other organization in the history of MLM except for Dexter Yager. (Bill Britt is part of Dexter's Group).

Around Bill Britt - there are income predictions galore. For three years starting in 2002, I was an active Amway distributor (then known as Quixtar) at which time I had the privilege of attending several events where Bill Britt was a keynote speaker. I remember hearing people speculate that he makes anywhere from $10 million per year all the way up to $300 million per year. (As a special note - this is not an income claim, as I have no affiliation whatsoever with Amway - I'm just saying that no one really knows how much he makes - except that it is probably A LOT.)

Bill has one of the most loyal followings that I have ever ran into in the world of business. For example, in 2005 I attended an event called Free Enterprise Day in Long Beach, California where Bill Britt was the keynote speaker. The room roared with applause as he walked on the stage, and when he spoke they were all silent - with tape recorders running and notes flying. The reverence he had from his audience was on par with a Rock Star, or one of the ancient Egyptian Pharoahs - I've never seen anything like it. I think he talked more about religion and politics than he did about Amway, which didn't surprise me that much because I had been going to Amway events for 3 years - and they all do that.

The methods used by Bill in building his business are those of traditional Network Marketing - Home Meetings, Hotel Meetings, and Weekend Events. Primarily, the foundation for his business was laid in the late 60's.

He also has developed one of the largest and most profitable personal development companies in the world - each week sending out millions of tapes, books, and training materials to his downline organization. In fact, there have been estimates that up to 95% of Bill's income comes from his MLM tools business.

Bill Britt belongs to a world of the past - he preaches a godly government, limited government intervention in our personal lives, family values above all else - and oh, I almost forgot that he occasionally mentions Amway.

In the last 15 years, the business building techniques that the Bill Britt organization has been using for 30 years have started to become antiquated, and as a result the growth of Amway suffered in the United States (Bill has somewhere between 30-50% of the entire Amway organization on his team).

I joined Amway in 2002 (when they were flying the Quixtar flag) and I struggled for 3 years doing absolutely EVERYTHING I was told by my upline sponsor.

I quit Amway after doing a thorough business analysis and determining that my efforts would be much more productive in a younger company with less name recognition and more room for growth. The results have been absolutely astounding. However, there are some important insights we can learn from Bill Britt. The biggest insight however is this:

The financial possibility of a MLM organization that is built with a strong foundation is practically limitless.

In short - Bill Britt is nothing short of an icon in American business. Think what you may of Amway - this man has done something quite remarkable and we can all learn a thing or two from his success.
