This article will help you in a hard task of studying under self hypnosis, alone. While a lot of people practice getting into a trance and than learning, usually it requires help of hypnotist or at least another person that will read hypnotic script and has a basic know-how. However, in this article I will show you how to do this stuff alone, without any help.
Before you start I advise you to do following things:
Forbid your family to enter your room in next 2 hours, also ask them to remain as quiet as they only can. Put the card on the door to your room saying "DO NOT DISTURB". When, you have insured no one will disturb you, you can prepare your learning materials. If you are able to put yourself into deep hypnosis prepare your booklets and/or books. If can achieve only shallow trance prepare your CD or mp3 player.
As usual we have to face the common misconception that hypnosis is something similar to sleeping, however we are unable to control our sleep. So, allow me to get it off my chest, hypnosis is not sleeping. Hypnosis is an altered state of awareness, in which hypnotized person controls everything that is happening around him.
The key to mastering self-hypnosis is learning how to "leave your body". It is all about separating your mind from body. Our mind plays the role of hypnotist "sitting" next to "hypnotized person", your body, and giving suggestions. At first you may have problems with controlling your body without identifying with it. But if you have some imagination and will spend time practising you will get past this issue quickly.
You can make this process much easier by using your CD or mp3 player. Although Hypnotists believe that this is no longer self-hypnosis when you use any kind of sound player, it doesn't matter if your goal is to acquire knowledge, not to learn self-hypnosis.
So if you have any kind of sound recorder, you can record your hypnotic induction and then play it, while entering trance. You shouldn't worry you will have problems keeping up with the recording. After several attempts, the reactions should be appropriate to the pace of the tape. But you need to be patient and try as often as you can.
As you can see there is a lot you have to keep in mind when doing self-hypnosis for learning. This process requires focus and determination. There are two ways you can go about it, first you can try to train yourself to be able to achieve deep hypnotic trances, or you can use self-recorded hypnotic inductions. Few years ago it would be very hard with tape recorders, but now you need just a PC, mp3/CD player and microphone for $5 and you are ready to go.
