Adware, spyware and computer viruses are three very common problems that people encounter. Let’s learn more about the solution to these problems.

Basically Spyware is software that will not directly harm your computer. Spyware normally records the various types of web sites that you visit, it then creates pathways that can be used by someone else aside from the computer owner to communicate with the computer. This person will then gather information and may forward it to web advertisers to allow them to send you unwanted emails and pop-ups. This information may also be sold to advertisers and other parties.

Spyware have their own separate executable programs which can allow them to scan files on your hard drive, record your keystrokes, and search through other programs that you use which can include messenger, emails, cookies, Internet browsing history etc.

Adware is quite different in a way that they are a more legitimate form of freeware. Similar to spyware, adware are advertising materials which are included in some software or programs that are installed automatically once that particular program or software is added into the computer system. Some forms of adware, on the other hand, download advertising contents as a particular application is being utilized. It is quite unlucky that most of the adware programs act like spyware by tracking and reporting user information to program authors.

As the number of spyware programs and their components increase, users will notice that problems such as the computer slowing down its functions right down to a crawl will become very common. Some spyware programs can be a lot worse in a way that it will disable the computer's firewall system or anti-virus software which will cause the computer to be a lot more vulnerable to spyware, adware and other contagious attacks.

However viruses are a vicious type of software. They have been purely calculated and created for one single purpose, and that is to destroy your computer system. They destroy anything that they come in to contact with, and they will also reproduce to infect as many parts of the computers system as possible. They can also spread into the computers network and infect other computers connected to the network.

There is a large number of spyware and adware programs on the internet at the moment, and the anti spyware industry is growing every day to counter these programs. As long as internet users continue to encounter these problems the anti-spyware companies will continue to create tools that will combat the attack of spyware and adware on your computers.

Microsoft Windows platform users are more vulnerable to spyware and adware attacks.
The only reason for this is that Windows is so popular. Because of this popularity, it has become a main objective for spyware agents. Another example is that users of other internet browsers such as Firefox, are less likely to be attacked, compared to the users of Internet explorer.

Learn to setup firewall systems and use pop-up blockers to minimize computer infection and guarantee the security of all your computer files. These are just basic techniques that will aid in the defence of Adware and Spyware. My advice is to use software which specialises in adware and spyware removal. Its up to you which one you want to use, but try look for ones that have a good reputation, or make sure that you read the reviews.
