The saving grace is that the climate is so temperate here that for the most part even if people do eventually end up on the street there is little chance of them perishing from the elements. That is a harsh statement but when you think of being homeless in Long Beach California as opposed to being homeless in Minneapolis or St. Paul in Minnesota, I think that you can see which one would be the better of the two evils in that scenario.
The saddest part is that the situation in California, as bad as it is will more than likely continue to get worse for quite a while before it actually gets any better. Even worse though is that the recovery due to the deepness of the issue here is going to take longer in California than in most parts of the country.
As a result there will be a lot more homes succumbing to the foreclosure lists and the repossessions will continue to rise for a long time and the only thing we can do is sit and wait to see how far down things go and hope that we find a way to reverse the trend in time to save our own homes.
