The concept of opt-in is derived from the form of marketing also called "permission based marketing". This is a popular sales approach that is used online to ensure that the customers being contacted are actually interested in the products being sold. A prospective customer will give his consent to receive marketing information normally through email. An opt-in list is therefore a list of your prospective customers' email addresses!

These email addresses are obtained through a landing page which is the first page that your prospect ever sees. The landing page can be as simple as a headline with a brief list of benefits and a subscription box to acquire the customers email address. This forms the basis of your of your opt-in list.

However you need more than just a list. You need a super responsive list of a group of people who are thrilled to be a part of your list and who look forward to taking action on the offers you send to them.

You must begin the process of building the list relationship from the moment a subscriber signs up. Below are the key rules for building a responsive opt-in-list.

1. Follow up immediately.

Sound list management and affiliate network marketing strategy requires that you follow up with a new subscriber immediately . You risk losing that subscriber if you do not follow up right away. 6. Keep your offers Hot.

Email offers should not be junk offers or offers for old, worn-out products. Hot offers share Certain characteristics such as :-

-- They include the newest most worthy products
-- Are normally high value packages priced to be incredible deals
-- They are often not available anywhere else and only you are able to offer the product or other special pricing.
-- Such offers are also time sensitive with the subscriber making a limited window of time to act on the offer before it disappears.

7. Clean up your List.

It is important to keep your List clean and up to date. This requires reviewing and removing all the dead or blocking email addresses from your List. You may also ask the least active Subscribers to reconfirm their subscription to your mailing
List. This helps keep your List current and organized to only the most responsive Subscribers.

In conclusion, getting people to join your list is only half the battle. It is what you do with those subscribers once they are on your List that counts. To maximize on your Opt-in List you must make it as responsive as possible.
