Why you should never judge a book by its cover, unless its an ebook.

Time and time again I see people selling ebooks, from sales pages, websites, or online auctions such as eBay and the fatal mistake they make is an unprofessional ecover.

Whe you use an ecover that is shabby, unclear wording, fuzzy images etc, you are de-valuing the appearance value of your ebook.

You are instantly saying "this ebooks contains cheap and shabby contents".

You have probably put blood, sweat and a few tears into writing your ebook, you have taken the time to research the content or topic, you have carefully compiled it into the final draft that you beleive contains useful content, and then just as you can see the finishing post up ahead....

Your trip and fall as you condem your ebook with a cheap, shabby ecover design.

There are many programs out today that can generate professional looking ecovers, in literally 30 seconds, but I must admit, these generated ecovers are not always the best quality.

Or you can hire someone to do a professional ecover for you, the cost ranging from as low as 99p to as much as ?29.99 depending on which designer you use, personally I charge ?1.99 per ecover design.

You took enough time to write your ebook, now to cross that finish line give your ebook the ecover that does it justice, the ecover design that enhances your ebook appearance and ultimately, your ebook cost.

The more professional your whole ebook package looks, the more likely it is to sell at a good price.

I recently tested this theory on an ebook I was selling, it had a pathetic ecover, but the ebook itself contained excellent information.

I personally re-designed the ecover, making the overall appearance of the ebook, and sales page more professional looking.

The result was : the ebook, that was lucky to sell for 99p, now continually sells for ?4.99, and all I did was change the ecover, I didnt amend the description in any way.

This is the reason I know, 110%, that you should never judge an ebook by its cover UNLESS its an eBook!
