of the firm conducted the survey.
At a time when the financial slowdown has made organizations cut their budgets, online recruitment in Dubai is the most cost-effective means of finding the correct candidates for available jobs. A report by US-based Forrester Research states that the average cost to hire an employee via the Internet is nearly ten times less than through newspapers and magazine advertisements.
A total of 16 per cent respondents said they are using the most cost-effective hiring methods.
The speed of response, ability to cater to a bigger and wider audience and user-friendly interface on jobs websites has contributed to the popularity of online recruitment. A recent survey showed that IT jobs in Dubai are the biggest beneficiary of online recruitment because of the excessive use of internet by computer graduates as compare to other discipline’s graduates.
More than 52 per cent of the region’s employers said using jobsites is the preferred method of sourcing talent with 21 per cent considering the method to be fast, according to the poll.
One expert on the subject of human resource management while considering the recent surveys said, “There are more people registering for jobs this year. Employers are looking for a database where they can conveniently search for candidates with the right skills and abilities.”
While recruiters consider newspaper advertisements the next preferred method with 11 per cent sourcing through them, a mere 5 per cent consider career fairs beneficial.
