No doubt you are surrounded by small restaurants and food takeaway shops. Unless they are all very lucky they will certainly need customers. As we all know, we could have the best looking web site a fantastic restaurant but, if we don’t have regular customers we won’t survive.
Here is a simple strategy to make you some money.
There are a few options to consider first:
1) Will you offer the business a web site of thier own.
2) Could you offer them a listing in a local directory which you own.
3) If the business owner/manager has time perhaps a blog will suit them.
You could do with a lap top to take around with you and show working examples, you can build these yourself from a free template and perhaps feature the business name on your demo.
The way it might work and you can tweak things remember is this:
You say Hi do you have a web site or a local listing? If the answer is no then, go ahead and make a pitch to either provide a web site, provide a listing or both and have the business top of googles local search. We will discuss how to get the first page listing on google later. Here we are kicking a ball around with ideas.
The owner/manager will ask you “how does it work” then “how much does it cost”. You continue with your sales pitch ( write a script for this so you can go through your pitch smoothly). Here is an example:-

Plan A: Think of a package price with various options such as , build, host and maintain a website for them. You need email capture.
Work to your own ability or out source what you need once you have an order for the work, you can ask a 50% deposit upfront or plan a monthly charge, or a complete turn key package price, it’s up to you.
Now what we need next is printed cards to hand out to customers. On the card it will say:
The Restaurant Name-
Thank you for dining with us-
We would like to invite you to
our special dinner evenings
where you can try out new dishes.
Please can we have your email addres.
Bingo-you have a customers email address and the restaurant can in fact organise special dinner evenings usually, these are nights such as mid week a Sunday evening, if you can fill the restaurants quiet nights the owner will put a red carpet out for you anytime you visit, not to mention complimentary dinners.
Imagine you add to the turnover by 20% say 100 covers at £10 =£1000 or $1500 per week is a huge uplift in business. There is no reason why you can’t pitch at £100 or $150 per month for your service. If you can pick up 25 restaurants to your portfolio your in to a regular £2500 or $3750 per month x 12 is not bad!
Now your ready to hit another business sector. You have to do some leg work to start though, once it’s done it’s almost autopilot business.
