Human beings have always had a fascination for the vehicles that they drive. Man was very close to his first vehicle the horse. Then came the chariots and other forms of the chariots. Then with time the motor vehicles were introduced. When they were introduced they had a very limited power and were used only for basic transportation services. But with time they evolved into a machine that can be used for adventurous purposes. This article deals about the various models of jeep CJ.

Generally when there is war between two country whoever has a stronger army will be able to win the battle. War is a part off almost every generation. There are some brave heart which will be fought in the war. So in order to encourage this they will be given some kind of gifts to others.


They can be used for moving in a very rough terrain. There were many kings and princes who used these vehicles during their hunting endeavors. This is one of the famous things during these times.

The one name that is synonymous with off roading vehicles is jeep. This was the company that built the first off roaders. There is a lot of confusion as to how this name came into existence. There is a famous story that it was actually named as GP-general purpose and it was pronounced as jeep and the name stayed.

One of the popular jeep model CJ was cj-2. It was the designed having the military jeep used in WWII like its base. People were really having an wonderful time with this model. I. It was simply like a modified version of 4x4 and it was based on the famous Willy design. It had under its hoods the Willy's go devil engine.


The vehicles from jeep were mainly used by the American army during various wars that it fought. It was used even in WWII. They were used because of their raw power and ability to pull heavy loads and capability to transport people and ammunitions in tough terrains. It was used by the armies for a variety of purposes such as transportation, reconnaissance.

This was the model that made jeep a truly a world class vehicle. It became a name that was famous around the world. Jeep gave the license to Mitsubishi of Japan and mahindra of India to produce vehicles that were based on the cj 3B model.

There fore they made some slight modifications to the vehicle that was used for military purposes. The company sold more than 2 lakh units of this model and it was very big success for the company.

The other model that needs a mention in the jeep cj's story is the cj4. It was the vehicle that was created with the Willy's hurricane engine. It was expected to be a huge success. But it didn't even to the actual mass production stage.

It was based on the military jeep used in WWII. It was accepted very well by people. It became a huge hit as it focused on the patriotic emotions of the people. Many models of cj were introduced such as cj-1, cj-2, cj-2a, cj-3, cj-4 etc.

It was a very important product in jeep's history because it was the model whose design was licensed by jeep to foreign companies like Mitsubishi and mahindra. Mitsubishi was a Japan company and mahindra was an Indian company. They have produced vehicles based on this cj3B and have been very successful too. This model also used the same Willy's hurricane engine.
