Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands and a top choice for kicking back and relaxing on fine white sand under a Mediterranean sky. Its coastlines are one of the island’s greatest assets and with over 100 beaches to choose from there’s plenty to suit all types of sun-seeker, from watersports and family activities to idyllic isolation. To help you make the most of your paradise break, here's a selection of Menorca’s top beaches for all occasions:
Best for seclusion – Cala Turqueta
Cala Turqueta on Menorca’s west coast is an effortlessly beautiful beach that has been left untouched by the tourist trade. There are no facilities available, but there are incredible views with an endless blue sea to look out over as you relax in almost total seclusion.
Best for families – Son Parc
Located on the island’s north coast, Son Parc offers safe, shallow waters and plenty of activities, ideal for families to relax with a day in the sunshine. The beach is also nearby Menorca’s only golf course, offering enthusiasts the perfect opportunity to slip away for a quick round of golf!
Best for activities – Cala Galdana
This southern beach has a huge amount to offer the active holidaymaker. Alongside its beautiful horseshoe bay and stunning cliff backdrop, you can enjoy a range of activities. Boat trips, watersports, mini golf, cycling and walks along the picturesque coast to secluded coves are all on offer.
Best for nature – Cala Trebaluger
This picture-postcard beach on the south coast can be found at the mouth of a river, surrounded by pine forests. Accessible only by foot, the area is perfect for bird watching. There are no facilities so take a picnic with you to eat in the shade of the trees.
Best all-rounder – Son Bou
Stretching 3km along Menorca’s south coast, Son Bou is the island’s longest beach. There’s plenty of room to enjoy its picturesque views from the comfort of a sun bed or beach bar, or make use of the activities on offer including a variety of water sports. The beach is an enduringly popular choice with holidaymakers, but occasional strong currents mean that care should be taken, particularly with small children.
