"The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind." -- Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko, in the movie "Wall Street".

How could I write about greed without incorporating that incredible quote into the mix? The fact is that greed, in all of it's forms, is good. And whether you choose to admit it or not, we are all a little greedy. Without a little greed, "the extreme desire for something better", no progress occurs. We all have dreams for bigger and better things. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Greed is part of the mindset that all successful entrepreneurs have. It enables them to to succeed and make serious money. As Donald Trump says, "The point is that you can't be too greedy." Too much greed is not good. Anything in excess is not good. If you're a couch potato all the time, you'll wind up overweight and in bad health. But it's nice to lounge around every once in a while isn't it? It's all about moderation. You should want more for yourself. You should want financial freedom. You should want to experience the best foods, the best clothes, the best cars, the best homes. I encourage you to be a little greedy. Change your attitude about greed and you can change your destiny.

Greed will take you far. Greed is a powerful tool that you can use as motivation to accomplish great things, including riches beyond your imagination. And once you have achieved success and the money that comes with it, you will find that you have choices. The choice to work if and when you want. The choice to take a day, a week, or even a month off. The choice to go where you have always wanted to go, to do everything you've always wanted to do. The choice to give to charity. In other words, the fruits of your greed will give you the power to do whatever you want, whenever you want, from where ever you want as long as you don’t hurt others. You will have total control of your life, you will have total freedom.

Remember, you don't want to be too greedy though. In our daily lives, when someone takes more than we think they deserve, we call them greedy. And that's the key. What do you deserve? Be honest with yourself. You deserve more than you have now.

We all want something. A little greed just might be the key to accomplishing all of your goals and dreams. It just might be the key to making a positive impact on the lives of hundreds, even thousands of lives.
