There are many ways that you can use Private Label Rights (PLR) material. The main problem is that many people's approach is to use it in completely the wrong way and then wonder why they have failed. Find out the right way here.
Golden Rule 1 – Research, Research, Research.
A classic mistake that so many people make is not doing adequate research before they begin to create their own product.
You may have created an absolutely superb product with lots of valuable information. Your family and friends may even think it is great, but if there is no other interest out in the big wide world for your masterpiece then I’m afraid you have just wasted your time.
o Use Google to research the topic of your proposed product. Are there any paid entries (The results that appear on the right) about your topic? If there are then that is good. It shows that others marketers/companies have spotted interest in this area. Don’t worry about the competition. Competition is healthy.
o While you are doing your initial research for interest in the topic then also start to make notes about your chosen topic so that you will be able to bring your product right up to date.
o Go and have a look at the marketplace in Clickbank and see if there are any product for sale there along a similar theme as yours,
o You can also use places like “Commission Junction” and “Paydotcom” to look for interest.
You will never profit from PLR if you do not do proper market research.
Golden Rule 2 – Evaluate the content.
Fully check out the license rights that you have with the PLR. Not all PLR is the same. Check out what you can edit and if there any other restrictions that would prevent you from using it as you would like to.
Private label rights (PLR) are in great demand because they can be a huge short cut in producing many different types of end products, eBooks, Articles, and complete products.
With this in mind you must be aware that the less scrupulous members of the internet marketing fraternity will quite happily throw together some useless rubbish that will be difficult to use. It may also have originated from a non English speaking area and the sentence construction and spelling may leave something to be desired.
You will not profit from PLR when faced with material like this and your best option would be too simply to chalk it up to experience, bin it and move on.
You may then be tempted to just repackage and sell it on to cut your losses. This would be a big mistake.
We all get PLR from time to time that is really of no use. It’s just part of the process. Just put it to one side and find some better material to work with.
Your primary goal as an internet marketer should be to promote a good rapport and engender trust in your customers. Selling them junk will totally destroy any efforts that you have made to build that relationship and consequently you will not be profiting by using PLR.
Golden Rule 3 – Making it your product.
PLR comes in many different shapes and sizes. Some may be just in the form of a text file while other may be presented as a full blown product with:
o A Sales page
o Graphics
o Editable document
o Thank you page
o Videos
o Audio
If you do get a full package like this then the temptation will be to make minimal changes and then start to market it as soon as possible. This would be a humungous mistake.
Think about it! If you have just bought the rights to this PLR then so have hundreds or even thousand of other people. That in itself isn’t a problem if you follow the following guidelines.
o Always rename the material.
o Never use any supplied graphics. If you are not good at creating your own graphics then get them outsourced (Created for you) it will pay you massive dividends.
o If the Sales page if halfway decent then use it by all means but make your own changes to it emphasizing the features that you wish to bring attention to in your product.
o Always try to bring extra value to your product.
You need to think of the PLR material as a good template to start working with. Using PLR to start your project off with can save you an enormous amount of time but you must make it your own.
How many times have you seen the same product all over the internet for a low price? This is usually because these marketers have taken the quick and easy option.
By making the above changes you will be able to profit from PLR and demand a much higher price for your product.
Golden Rule 4 – Bring it up to date and add value.
Remember when you did your initial research. Now you need to bring the information you found out there to the party. If any of the information in your product is old or outdated then you need to bring it right up to date with current information.
You should also begin to think about creating additional value to your product. When editing your content think about adding (or replacing existing) pictures in your text.
If you have created an eBook about something then you could also provide some short videos to demonstrate a point or show how to do something.
Audio is also extremely popular. Many people find it extremely convenient to be able to listen to material rather than to have read through it.
In summary
To truly profit from PLR you need to take your time and
o Perform proper market research.
o Thoroughly evaluate your PLR material.
o Re-vamp the material and make the product your own.
o Bring the material up to date and add value.
If you follow these simple guidelines then you will be well on your way to succeeding and profiting from PLR.
