Philippians 3:7-10
If you were to take a trip, would you just hop in your vehicle one morning with no idea where you're going and then magically arrive at the right destination at the right time? No way! Instead, you would need a plan - some guide that shows where you want to go. If we do this with our vacation plans, we should be even more diligent to do the same thing with our lives.
How can you expect to get to where God wants you to be if you never stop to set clear, quantifiable goals for your life? Without these determined directional markers, there is not any way to keep your life on course - you may just be adrift from one experience to another, with no consistency or coherence. That is certainly not the wealthy, purposeful, abounding life that God desires for you.


many people fear goal setting as the act of building and aiming at goals needs change. However, these chances for growth are his method of moving His youngsters forward. And if you are not progressing in your walk with the Lord, then you may be certain that you are slipping backward.
God doesn't want you falling back or losing ground in your walk with Him. His best is never behind you, but rather ahead. Even the apostle Paul pressed forward to attain what he called'the prize' ( Philippians 3:14 ). Like Paul, we must continually progress by asking God where He would like us to be and then directing our lives to that end. -
