On page Search Engine Optimisation involves optimising your web pages to generate greater search engine visibility. Unfortunately, SEO can take a long time to pay dividends unless you hire an SEO expert to do it for you, but there are some things you can do yourself to startthe ball rolling
Create unique title and description tags for each page of your site. Don't copy and paste the same tags across all the pages because what you're essentially saying to the search engines if you do is 'every page of my website is about the same thing'.
Add the targeted keyphrases to the navigation links within your website. Rather than 'click here' you could use 'click here for for Affordable SEO Services'. You could even leave remove the words 'click here' altogether. Once you've decided on the keyphrases you want to target, edit your website copy so that it contains these keyphrases. Don't make it too obvious by repeating or writing clumsy sentences to fit them in. Make sure your content is visitor focused - if the content is dull, repetitive or not relevant then the amount of keywords won't matter as people won't stay on your website for long anyway.
Ensure that all of your URLs are keyphrase-rich such as www.website.rather than a meaningless collection of digits and symbols.
Glide your mouse over the images on your website to check what they're called. If they come up with names which don't include keywords such as 'Image001.jpg.' then take the time to alter the alt-tags and re-upload them. If possible, make the new name keyphrase-rich.
Adding new content is a good way to optimise your site as it increases the scope of keywords you can target which will encourage more people to visit (or even link to) your website.
SEO is a long and sometimes laborious task but if you get the groundwork right from the start then it's easy to build on.
