Yes, I mean what I say. Why? Keep reading.
I'm a network administrator and work for a big company in Australia. I bought a used PSP from an old friend of mine who happens to be French. Because of this most of the stuff on the psp machine were French versions. So, the first thing I thought I'd do, was to do a search for some compatible software and games to install.
I did a search on Google using the keywords 'Free PSP game downloads', I got a lot of websites in the search results that seemed to have offers very similar to the results that I was seeking. I clicked on most of the websites that appeared on the first few pages of the Google search results. Some of them offered not only free PSP game downloads, they also offered free PSP music downloads, free PSP movies downloads and lots of other stuff, all for free. Most of the sites that I encountered were pretty flashy sites, over thirty flash banners shown on the first page and lots of pop up windows asking for my e-mail address. I hate to think of all the spam mails I was going to receive in my inbox if I'd been stupid enough to enter my e-mail address to all those that requested it. After about half an hour of going through some of the sites in my results I came across one that appeared pretty clean and looked a great download site. It had no pop up windows, which was a blessing and only a few banners at the bottom of page. It had a link to Free PSP games downloads and other free content stuff in the left hand menu.
On going through some of the games on offer I found quite a few of my favorites. I also found some great wallpapers that I thought would look cool on my PSP and as I had a fast Internet connection I decided to download them all at once and save some time while I headed off to do some other chores that needed doing. About half an hour later I came back to my computer to see how my downloads were going. I got the shock of my life when I saw that the fire wall software was blinking furiously on account of spyware alerts and viruses that were attempting to attack our network. I quickly scanned the system to find the origin of the spyware. And yes, as if you couldn't guess, the website that I had trusted that I had put so much faith in, was not only giving me free PSP game downloads, but free spyware and free virus infection too, and lots of it. I was just thankful, as luck would have it, that the firewall and anti-spyware software on our system was up to date, as it had been brought up to date that very morning. I hated to think of the consequences of my actions, had that not been the case.
The next day I did another search on Google but this time, I did it omitting the word 'free'.
I came across a few Psp game download review sites listed. These had not shown under my 'free' search the previous day. Most of these listed three or four psp download sites with detailed information as to their merits or any problems that they might arise with using them. This was great news for me as being a bit of a novice where psp downloading is concerned, it enabled me to make a more informed decision, before eventually settling upon some sort of preference.
A short while later I'd joined one of the sites recommended
and even though I had to pay a fee, within a short time, I was thankfully downloading some great stuff and the best part is, I was feeling a whole lot safer too 'cos I knew it was free of viruses and spyware. So now I've got a lifetime membership
and have unlimited access to all the downloads I can handle.
So as far as I'm concerned my free searching days are over, for me, it's goodbye to 'free' PSP game downloads.
