The 2009 Ford escape is a major redesign of the popular range of SUV models from Ford. Boasting ease of use, an abundance of features and a high quality build with an exceptional safety record, this is a very respectable latest version of the popular range.

It is receive largely positive reviews from a number of customers and agencies, and is also been approved by the insurance companies for its exceptional record of safety. Having performed very well in a wide variety of crash tests, you can be sure that this is one of the safest cars on the market for touring and family use.

The four speed automatic transmission which was used in last year's version of the model has also been replaced with a standard five speed transmission and there is also a six speed transmission available. With optimised gear ratios, the performance is somewhat enhanced as well.

The car also comes of more optimised gear ratios, allowing for five speed transmission though an optional six by transmission is also available should you wish to get it as an extra. It also consumes about 10 per cent less fuel than the predecessor, making it especially practical and relatively cheap to run. This is something that Ford has often managed a perfect over time.

The interior has also undergone somewhat of a redesign, having been upgraded somewhat from 2008 versions of a model. It has a two tiered instrument panel which is fully featured and very easy to use. Adding to ease of use, it also has some blue and green instrument lighting which is reliable and effective when used in the car and night.

This car, though compact for SUV, still boasts a considerable amount of storage space. If you fold back the rear seats, you have up to 66 cubic feet of storage space, pretty impressive for car of this size. This makes the car much more versatile, making it ideal for transporting large quantities of objects or going touring around the country and the family.

The car has lots of features in the interior which you would expect and some which are definitely some pleasant surprises. Are the entertainment system built in is extremely impressive and comes as standard as well. You can easily look up your GPS system or any other form of entertainment in car.

One of the safest cars on the market, it makes it a perfect choice for a family car or touring car. Insurance premiums should also be fairly reasonable and, being Ford, it is fairly cheap to run and parts of cheap and easy to get.
