As with going out to work, there is any number of work from home companies. It really does depend upon what you want to do. I think that it'd be useful also to say that as well as working for yourself, or being freelance, you can also work from or at home for an employer.

The world is full of work from home opportunities, some legitimate some not so. It is true to say that jobs don't usually come with a fee (although business usually do) so always think twice before you send off your hard earned to a company or individual who says that they are able to offer you work at home. This is not to say that you should pass all and every opportunity up - if you are interested in a particular opportunity, contact the person or organisation offering it and ask them as many questions as you feel you need. If they are legitimate they'll have no problem with giving you as much information as you need.

I'd like to discuss three of the more well known work from home companies in the UK. All involve catalogues, but all have different business models. They are Kleeneze, Avon and Betterware. Avon and Kleeneze charge you for your books but Betterware don't. Both Betterware and Avon operate a territory system - they tell you where to put your books out, but with Kleeneze you can put your books anywhere - you build your own territory.

It is true that Kleeneze charges an upfront fee to join - this is business opportunity rather than a job. Now as I have discussed above, a legitimate company which Kleeneze (like Avon and Betterware) is, will be glad to answer any queries that you have. In the case of Kleeneze especially, it is likely that you'll join with a sponsor. You may have found a mysterious card on your card, or seen a flyer or even poster - not to mention newspaper ads. In order to get people talking about the potential that Kleeneze offers, upfront mention of the name is avoided, as this does put people off. However, if you were to look at the Kleeneze opportunity in any depth you would realise that there is a direct relationship between work done and reward received.

In summary then, remember that the most important lesson to learn is that whichever programme you choose to join, you will be face with having to do some work. No work in means no money out. Anyone who tells you that you can do nothing and earn cash is giving you the run around. Next up, research. In order to make the best possible decision, you need the best possible information. And remember, your first, gut instinct about something is probably the right one. You can find plenty of information, just by typing the name of the company or individual that you are researching just by typing it into Google (and then hitting enter, remember, no work = no results). Anyway, best of luck to you!
