Audi A8 seems to take a lead in luxury car in top of the segment cars introduced in 2008. It is an improved version of its predecessor brought out way back in 1994 to the market with features of upscale denotations. It was then the first ever introduced car on all aluminium body with the name ASF (Audi Space Frame). This super luxury saloon styled car comes with Quattro technology 4 WD which is light weight but, strong enough to withstand strong jolts on running. It is superbly designed with powerful V6 and V8 engines and adaptive air suspension. This car comes in versions A8, A8 L and S8 with distinct features of performance, and in both petrol and diesel fuel engines. The ‘L’ versions additional 5 inches of wheel base for some more room inside.

The front side of Audi A8 has interlocking high polished rings of Audi placed on broader grill. The head lights are powerful xenon headlamps fitted within tubular base. The body is aerodynamically designed to cause less air resistance with superb road grip. Styling and contours of body are admirably done. The rear and turning lights are LED lights for better visibility from distance. Interior of the car is very decently appointed with seats done up using finest Valcona leather. Interior is supported with Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System for maximum with 5 channel surround sound system, a heaven for music lovers. Further provisions of CD player and using iPod facility makes A8 and experience. To accentuate the sound effects, interior of A8 has acoustic property that encompasses both front and rear seats. Front seats have heating facility plus are made power adjustable. Window glass is insulated for outside noise control. Also, power sunshades are fitted on the sides and rear side.

Form engineering point of view, A8s have different engines to choose from- 4.2 lit V8 engine and 6 lit V8 engine but, Quattro 4WD technology and automatic transmissions to 6 speeds remain standard for all. Air suspension, electronic shock absorption and 18 inches alloy rim are also common features of both the versions.

Since the car is framed up on ASF aluminium cassis as well same material used for panels, the weight goes down considerably while its strength is not compromised the least from steel based body frames. The body is rather sturdier for crash impact and supportive to fuel saving. Suspension of A8 can work on automatic setting modes or can be preset by the driver for desired lifts to the body for negotiating with road conditions. A8s have both the features of lane Assist and Side Assist for effective guidance. Communicated to the driver comes by light on the rear view mirror for advancing vehicles from behind while changing the lane. The Side Assist creates vibrations to the steering in critical situations in denser traffic conditions to caution the driver. The air bags, for knee and front cushioning and lower anchorage facility are added safety gadgets used in A8. It has also an anti-theft alarm provision.
