If you are only intending to keep a small flock of chickens in your garden

(say 2 or 4) then getting a portable chicken coop would be a good option. As

you will soon discover there are a wide selection of portable chicken coops

available but sometimes it may prove a lot less expensive to build your own.
So just what benefits are there to be had from putting a portable chicken

coop in the garden rather than a permanent one? Below we take a look at just

a few of these benefits.
Benefit 1 - Installing such a coop in your garden means there is much less

chance of the chickens housed inside causing too much damage to it. It

allows you to move the coop from one area of the garden to another so that

they won't be able to tear up the area in which they were previously placed

too much.
Benefit 2 - If you are at all afraid of predators being able to gain entry

into your coop at night because of their size and portability they can

actually be placed inside a garage or shed.
Benefit 3 - Compared to a static coop with a portable chicken coop cleaning

up after the chickens is very easy to accomplish. After moving the coop to

another part of the garden the area where the coop was previously located is

now free and in a few minutes you will have cleaned up the area without

being concerned that the chicken are going to get under your feet.
