Affiliate marketing is a way that many “stay-at-home” types successfully earn an honest wage while maintaining the freedom that working at home provides. As more and more Internet users discover the advantages of affiliate marketing as a choice vocation, the need to stand out from the crowd becomes more and more necessary in order to convert commissions and record substantial profits. Seasoned affiliate marketers agree that a unique and informational landing page is a necessity for every affiliate marketer hoping to represent and promote their affiliate products successfully.

A landing page is a webpage set up by the affiliate marketer in order to promote a specific product he or she represents. When a prospective customer clicks on an advertisement placed by that affiliate, that customer is brought to the specially tailored landing page instead of straight to the affiliate merchant’s site. By creating this unique landing page and routing would-be customers to it, the affiliate can provide more information relating to that product in many forms, any and all being effective depending on the affiliate campaign and product. An especially effective piece of content that can be included on an affiliate landing page is an insightful and well-written, hands-on review of that product. A first hand review of a product has a way of bridging the gap between salesperson/representative and customer. By showing all the unique benefits that the affiliate product has to offer in a meaningful, personalized way, customers can be encouraged and swayed to purchase that product by simply clicking the unique affiliate link within the landing page, sending them to the affiliate merchant site for purchasing. Another excellent way to utilize a landing page for a particular product is by using that page as an opportunity to pre-sell the product to the customers you have routed there. By outlining the product’s unique offerings in an objective way and providing a “call to action” at the end of your description, you will have an excellent chance of encouraging a “click-through” to the affiliate merchant’s site. Just remember to encourage, not push your would-be clients in order to be most effective. In many situations a simple “want to learn more?” and your specially generated affiliate link is ample guidance, provided your descriptions are adequate and effective. By utilizing a landing page to fully explain and promote each affiliate product you are representing, you will increase your chances of clicks, views, and purchases on your affiliate merchant’s site and be rewarded with commissions for your efforts.
