It is a matter of the utmost importance to be able to recognize the diabetes symptoms. Moreover, your life might depend on it. Without forewarning, the symptoms of diabetes sometimes start very severely altogether. The number of diabetics in the USA is currently around 20 million people, according to the American Diabetes Association. This frightening statistic says also that over 50 million people would be in the risk category for developing diabetes in the USA very soon.

Did you know also that throughout the United Kingdom there are over 2 million people with the symptoms of diabetes, and even worse, this condition is set to double within the next 10 years? However, perhaps more appalling is that there is an estimated 1 million more diabetics who don't realize their condition.

WHY EARLY DIAGNOSING IS CRUCIAL

Diabetes is a debilitating, unpleasant and very dangerous disease. That is why it is so important to discern its symptoms as soon as they start.

Many healthcare professionals prescribe medications just to treat the symptoms of diabetes. They appear to be convinced that there is no such thing as a diabetes cure. Period. However, the symptoms, the suffering and the pain are only the ways our body makes us know that things are going seriously wrong. Then, using drugs to reduce the symptoms is neither enough nor safe by any means. Doing so we would have no way to know if our diabetes was getting worse.

Although many of us are prescribed the same medicine dosage, no two diabetics are identical. For curing diabetes and its real causes, conventional medications are ineffective indeed. There are, nevertheless, providential non-chemical alternatives to consider. Whatever the case, I repeat that it is very important to be able to diagnose quickly.

HOW CAN YOU DISCERN

The information you can collect in the Internet may be invaluable and up-to-date. However, it cannot substitute for the consultation with your doctor, even more if you think you have one or more of the diabetes symptoms I am going to mention herein.

There are two main types of diabetes:

** In type 1 diabetes the body is unable to produce insulin (or at least not enough insulin) to process blood sugar. It usually starts in childhood and is controlled only with a strict diet and lifelong insulin shots.

** In type 2 diabetes the body is incapable of using insulin properly, or is not able to produce enough insulin. This variety is much more likely to affect people approaching seniority or middle age. It can be treated with a healthy diet and by stimulating the pancreas with the adequate medication and/or nutritional supplements, frequently without insulin.

WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES ?

Type 1 diabetes symptoms are the following: insatiable thirst, dry mouth, unexplainable weight gain or weight loss, tiredness, blurred vision, excessive hunger and frequent urination.

Type 2 diabetes symptoms tend to display more gradually over time. They include, among others: yeast infections, blurred vision, slow-healing sores or cuts, insatiable thirst, dry mouth, frequent urination and leg pain. These are just a few of the many symptoms that can be manifested due to diabetes or prediabetes.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: although you cannot get diabetes from your eating habits alone, for example if you are addicted to fatty or sugary foods, it has been scientifically proved that if you are obese or just overweight you are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes in the long run.
