Robotic vacuum cleaners have the sophisticated technology to move thru your home automatically. With the touch of button and small human interaction, these vaccums intelligently and efficiently approach a variety of floor types, with varying levels of dirt. The latest models of intelligent androids vacuum the floors, commit to memory the house design, empty the mud from their container and then return to their charging station.

Although there are multiple models on the market, smart vacuums are typically compact and close to the floor in order to get under obstacles. Even as little as they are, these robots receive good marks regarding the amount of mud, animal fur and crumbs they clean. A spinning side brush and ancillary side brush, and an agitator and inlet allow the robot to pick up dust. Most vacuum cleaners also have dust sensors. This permits the robot to decide whether an area is especially fouled or needs extra care. The Roomba has an added side brush mounted on the front bumper. These rotating brushes sweep dust away from walls or out of corners to wash completely. The debris bin needs to be emptied each 1-3 cleaning cycles for maximum efficiency. It's also helpful to keep the brushes clean for optimal performance. Almost all robotic vacuums have a filter that needs to be replaced if it becomes clogged.


The robot vacuum has an auto-navigation system. The most important difference in robotic vacuum price is the sophistication of the navigation system. Most get around with infrared signals, but the top-end Electrolux Tribulite uses sonar to navigate. Often the first thing a robotic vacuum does when starting to wash is calculate the room size by sending out an infrared signal and seeing how long it takes to bop back. The multiple sensors pick up environmental data and transmit it to the bots microprocessor. This technology allows the vacuums to practically think and make calls.
in addition to the infrared receiver, robot vacuum cleaners have drop-off sensors ( for drop-offs and stairs ), object sensors and wall sensors. In this way, the vacuum cleans without running into objects or getting stuck at walls or by furniture. The cleaner is also able to determine a cleaning trail, which often means beginning in an outward spiral motion around the center of the room and then moving to the perimeter of the room, while avoiding obstacles. Once a robotic vacuum hits an obstacle it cleans near it or turns and begins a new trail ; the idea is that if it cleans for a set period of time, it will at last cover almost all of the floor. Some cleaners can also set up infrared walls that control when the vacuum can cross open entrances, therefore keeping it out of unwanted areas. The vacuum can be set so the walls disappear long enough to let the robot pass, when a room is completely clean.


On some robot vacuums there is a low noise switch so that the vacuum can clean at night without disturbing you. Sensors in the vacuum spot when the floor type changes ( wood floor to carpet ) and immediately adjust the peak of the vacuum. Advanced anti-tangle design keeps the vacuum from getting caught on fringed rugs or electric cords. The robotic vacuums are made to be trouble-free, but small objects have to be lifted from the cleaning surface. Once the vacuum is done cleaning, the newer models come standard with a self-charging base that calls the robot home.

As it sold by the thousands and the cleaners were spotted to work fine, the company split their product line in two by 2004 with a lower and top-end model. The idea that you can leave the vacuum to clean while you run errands or watch a picture is popular. Plus, the boring of chore of vacuuming can turn into a daily spectacle with a robotic vacuum.
