Your cell phone is about to be invaded
The only advertisers on cell phones at present are the Mobile phone companies and mobile game makers. Also ring tones and applications producers are in on the act.
That is about it…so far. It is all about to change.
So, we know who is marketing their wares and services this way. Perhaps we should really ask “who isn’t advertising there yet?” Just look around, particularly at the internet and see who has been populating web pages and the search engines with their ads for more than a few years now.
Clearly, the growth of cell phone advertising is going to come from outside the mobile phone industry. It is going to lift itself off the pages of our computer screens, resize, reword and reformat itself and slide brashly and blatantly straight through the mobile phone networks and crash land onto our mobile phone handsets.
Who is set to gain? Hopefully the end users, the consumers, will feel that they will. However that clearly remains to be seen. What is guaranteed is that alongside the main network providers and their agents, the main beneficiaries will be those entrepreneurs who are hungry enough and keen enough for the thrills of a new ride.
The advance guard of this new invasion has already got its boots on and is answering the call of duty.
Because of systems and software developments in recent years created by both the massive Internet Marketing industry and its ‘Gurus’, many of the tools and protocols necessary for a quick and decisive invasion are already in place. They will function well with a little tweaking.
