Working as a moving company is hard work. I should know, as I was an engine of more than 30 years and only retired last year because of back pain. Engines often taken for granted - you pay for the service, and expected a good service. In essence, this is pretty true for any service provided, if for a plumbing or maintenance work in an air conditioning system.
Additional engines have a thing against them - it is extremely hard manual labor. If you ever do a “do-it-yourself” moving from one place to another, then you know what I mean. Probably not even remember his back pain to this day! To make it easier for their engines, while still getting the service you expect, I have compiled a list of some tips that can create a win-win situation for both you and your engines.
Put out the refreshments (and a smile)
It seems like a simple suggestion, but it really works! I’ve been in many jobs, where cold drinks, coffee, donuts and were available for the motors and many other jobs where the personalities of others and I had to annoy customers by a glass of juice. Movers are not asking for much, so the small gesture of hospitality - goes a long way. A positive attitude also helps engines, such as a smile works simple question. It’s hard enough for the engines to move an entire house in one day, why not be a pleasant experience for everyone!
KNOW WHERE YOU WANT ITEMS PLACED
Nothing frustrates removal of more than a customer who has no idea where belongings should be placed. Do yourself a favor and take a day or two to draw a plan of the new place and actually draw if you want all large items must go. Take measurements of your furniture, appliances, etc., so you will not have any surprises on moving day. For example, the measure of his bed and night tables to make sure they all fit in a sketchy area. If you’re placing the refrigerator in a corner of the kitchen, make sure there is ample room.
These seemingly obvious advice can really make the difference between a smooth and stressful for you and your engines.
