Lexus has manufactured a number of hybrid vehicles over the last five years. In fact, the company has started a major business in the hybrid market after seeing the growing popularity of these vehicles. The company has become so involved in this business that it has started churning out one new model of hybrid car after another. One of the recent additions to Lexus Hybrid cars is Lexus RX 450h. Essentially this new breed of hybrid car is different from the older versions.

Lexus RX 450h has the following features.

Exterior

RX 450h is a mix between SUV and Sedan. Contrary to the previous models of RX, the company has focused more on the curves and design as compared to a composite outlook. Critics have panned the design for its extra compactness. Customers, however, are not as concerned about the shape, as they have ample luggage space and a multitude of design features.

As is the case with other Lexus cars, the second generations of RX 450h cars come equipped with modern lights and parking features. Parking software is also installed in these cars. This software helps in an accurate and quick parking of your vehicle, even under bad road conditions.

Engine

The 3.5-liter V-6 engine is stronger than the previous models. A true gasoline power giant can give great accelerations. An additional motor is present in the all-wheel-drive model of RX 450h to boost the speed on rough surfaces. RX 450h can tackle 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds and thump on to a governed 124mph.

All the while, it can return at nearly 45mpg and hilariously slight CO2 emissions of only 148g/km. The quality of electric motor driver, on the other hand, has not much improved from the previous versions. Although the electric mode can take your car to all road surfaces, the speed would not be great in mountainous roads and deserts. On normal road surfaces, however, the electric mode gives a great performance.

Interior

A luxury Sedan look is what you will see in the interior of this vehicle. The seats are plush and come in the standard leather that has become a symbol of Lexus cars. Apart from seating, the interior of RX 450h has a number of features. The biggest advantage is that of the modern entertainment system that includes LCD screens, digital audio system, MP3 Players and Bluetooth connectivity. Second generation RX 450h comes with an automatic climate control system that manages the temperature in accordance with the outside atmosphere. You can use any of these features, including temperature control, through a remote controller.

The car also has provisions for the addition of extra features. LCD screens on the backseats can also be installed either in a stow-away mode or through fixing them at the back of the front seats.

Transmission

Transmission system of RX 450h is based on a variable transmission instead of a fixed gear system. Computer software is used to guide the drivers in the braking and acceleration process.
