Minutes simply tick away, but people can now make their own unique minutes last forever on the newly launched website, www.myminuteintime.com. By choosing a minute on the site – past, present, or future - this can be purchased for just £5.99 (US$10.99). The minute then becomes the exclusive property of the purchaser along with a personal web page, which they can easily load themselves and edit at any time in the future.

www.myminuteintime.com was designed to allow people to buy their own time capsules on the Internet in order to record memorable moments for all time. This might be for meeting the love of one’s life, getting married, the birth of children, having the idea that changed one’s life, sporting or academic achievements, passing the driving test or, any other precious personal moments like great events and memorable holidays. Purchasers have the option to keep their pages private or, to make them public. A certificate stamped with the date and the minute purchased can be printed off the site, and this is ideal for popping into a greetings card as a gift certificate.

Personal web pages on the site can include video links, or up to four digital pictures. An additional feature, at no extra cost, is the facility to have a favourite picture displayed on the homepage for 24 hours. This makes a great gift for a loved one, for example to wish them a happy birthday or, to congratulate them or, simply to say ‘I love you’ on a special day. These slots are on a first come, first served basis and are therefore subject to availability.

The web site also includes the free opportunity to post dating advertisements, providing a good way of seeking new friends, and a blogging section to share some of life’s more extraordinary experiences.

www.myminuteintime.com was devised by a 63 year old Sussex man Malcolm Clark, who commented, “I wanted to create a medium that would enable people to buy something that is totally unique to themselves, that’s when I came up with the ‘my minute in time’ concept. For a very modest outlay, ordinary folk can choose a time, which has a special significance, and this becomes their exclusive property for all time, with a certificate of ownership, and no renewal will ever be necessary.”
