Paint work in a home stays for about two to three years before it is redone. In decorative work the walls have to be smooth and without dents. The quality of paint defines also the final product on the wall. Its important to use first to second grade as the completed wall stays longer in a neat state. This enables the final finish to be neat and desirable. However after a little time, cracks may appear on the wall. This can be fixed and painted anew.
Paint work cracks may happen due to plaster or masonry. They may also be due to scratches or hitting the wall with hard objects. Once this appear on the wall, they are then corrected immediately. This ensures that they do not spread all over the wall. Start the work by scrapping off the old decoration. Remove the filler with a scrapper and rub down. Reveal the crack with the fringe of the scrapper. Dig in by 5 millimeters in depth to reach the plaster.
The cracked point of paint work is then crammed with strong cement grouting mixed with paint. This is to blend the correct line with the wall color. Employ a gypsum gauze with adhesive to cover the broken surface. Let this part dry for sixty minutes. Apply filler mixed with paint and spread evenly over the gauze. Again let it dry for an hour. Make sure that this is spread all round at least 500 millimeters. It gives a big surface area to work on the wall.
After the crack on the paint work is covered,rub down with a sand paper. Repeat the filler again and rub down. This guarantees the surface is smooth. Apply a primer to this surface. After it has dried, do the first coat of paint. Let the decoration dry with each coat taking at least forty 5 mins. Its vital to do the decoration on the entire wall. This will give a uniform finish. When complete, clean off the paint marks on the surfaces.
