TREATMENT

The doctor may advise you to use the nit comb to removed theses nits. Use the fingers in hand-picking the lice and nits. There's no need to spend so much in treating head lice because they do not live long enough after being removed from the scalp. Do not be alarmed if only a few lice are detected on the head. Leaving nits can still cause re-infestation.

If all the nits are gone, they cannot become nymphs to start infestation. Check your children's hair everyday to see if there are nits still present. No medication is intended for this case. But they cannot differentiate the active from the inactive attacks due to deficiency of knowledge and instruments. If necessary, it may be thrown away. Consider treating the head lice if there are possible nits or eggs detected. If the medicine seems to be ineffective, please seek the advice of the doctor.
PREVENTION

If the lice occurrence continues in two weeks, it is the time to consult the doctor. Lice and nymphs do not die immediately after medication. You don't have to panic because this is a natural thing
Understand the preventive measures for head lice before allowing your child to join field trips and camping
Inform everybody especially the children about lice and to follow these preventions. Obtaining these lice can be very embarrassing, but it doesn't make you look unclean. Always check the child's head using a nit comb.
