My kitchen remodel was a complete success because I chose the right general contractor for the job. I am truly thankful to P&T Construction, and based in West Palm Beach, Florida. If you live in the South Florida area and looking for someone to take a look at what can be done on your kitchen, I recommend that you call them for a free estimate at (561) 833-0614.

This project was so important to me because I like cooking. And although my cooking disasters aren't always well received, my kitchen remains the star of the show that guests overlook my utter inability to work a stove, blender, or even a microwave. My guests are charmed by the wood cabinets, granite countertops, and flooring and look at them with such envy they barely notice they're just eating day old spam and scrambled eggs. When I tell them how little I paid for the high end look, they often choke--- or finally notice they're just eating spam!

OK I admit I'm not that good a cook. But whatever it is you decide to prepare or how well you cook, you can never argue the importance of the kitchen in any home. It's where the magic happens. Not my culinary magic, I mean the center of the family's interactions. In West Palm Beach, like all of South Florida, the kitchen is the heart of every home.
I believe that the kitchen is also an investment that practically pays for itself. I think that a well-designed, well-equipped kitchen can significantly increase the resale value of a property. So what makes a good kitchen and how can a kitchen be considered to be well-designed? Some will say it's the furnishings, flooring, storage space or tiles that make it stand out. Some others will say that it's the kitchen appliances that are the real star of the show and how much easier it's made cooking for them. Not to be profound about it or anything, but I think that it's actually all of these. It's just a matter of finding the right balance to serve a homeowner's individual needs.

If you're going to renovate your kitchen, you should ask yourself a few things to get an idea of how big of a project it will require. The first thing you consider is how often you'll be working in your kitchen. Do you live alone or do you have a big family? Do you have guests that come over frequently? Are you the always-on-the-go average Joe (or Jane) that's content with preparing quick, simple meals? It's also a good thing to consider if you're vying to be the next Wolfgang Puck (or Iron Chef!).
Next to assess is your normal workflow when you cook. If you cook often, storage space is definitely an important factor to consider. Likewise, placing more frequently used cooking utensils and ingredients near the preparation area is also a good idea. If you tend to make a mess when you cook, you may want durable materials that are easy to clean such as granite for countertops and plastic laminate or tiles for the flooring. If your kitchen tends to get stuffy when you cook, then you may need to add some extra ventilation (which would also envy the neighbors with what's cooking in your kitchen!).

It is also a great idea to consider using the kitchen work triangle as a solid reference for your kitchen design. Basically this means that the refrigerator, prep area and cooking area are situated near enough to each other for convenience to minimize obstructions, but far enough so that working in one area does not interfere with another.

The last step is to look at your kitchen to see what improvements can be done. If a simple reshuffle or basic DIY-ery isn't enough, you may need to give your kitchen a general overhaul. Doing this yourself may be rewarding if you have enough skill to do it right. But! If you lack the technical knowhow you may end up spending a painful amount of time and cash on trial-and-error situations and do-overs. It' right at this spot where it's a good idea to hire a general contractor to take a look at your kitchen area to give professional advice based on your needs and your budget.

Living in the South Florida area and you need to give your kitchen that added something it's needed for a long time? P & T Construction, Inc. has you covered. With over thirty years of general contractor experience under their belt, you're sure to be given top notch advice on how your kitchen can be improved based on your specifications. Consult in confidence as they've got the expertise to back it up from a growing repertoire of successful kitchen renovation projects. Just ask for a portfolio of their previous projects and I'm sure they'd be glad to accommodate your request.
Personally, I've seen their previous renovation projects and they were spec-tac-u-lar! Honestly, I only had a rough idea of what I wanted my kitchen to look like post-renovation. Looking over their old projects gave me a clearer picture of what I wanted, and they gave me their honest opinion on what they can and can't do given the unique space requirements of my own kitchen. Finally, we agreed on a design and it was a smooth sail throughout the project. Needless to say, I'm very satisfied with my decision to hire P & T Construction to bring my dream kitchen to reality.
