Are you looking for ways to promote a new online business? Or maybe you're seeking new customers for an existing business? One of the simplest and most cost effective way of building traffic to a website is a method called mass email marketing.

There a few ways to utilize this technique. The first step is to gather a large sum of emails, which can be accomplished in a number of ways. For instance, business cards and word of mouth can go a long way for local-oriented businesses. For businesses that focus on online content, you could set up a mailing list of all interested customers to provide an easy way to keep your clients up to date with your products and news.

Another simple way of gathering email addresses is to purchase bulk addresses for a minimal cost. There are a number of websites that sell email addresses, and the more you purchase, the less you spend per address. Create a marketing page to promote your products (if you don't have one already), which will provide a good introduction to your products, offer discounts or promotions, and then, using the company's email address, send an advertising email to all the addresses you've collected, directing them to your site.

But there's still more to do: take the time to assess how successful your marketing page is and note how many customers found your site through your email. You can do this by either asking your customers how they heard about your business (a common practice nowadays) or by paying attention to any spike of consumer interest following an email advertising campaign.

Mass email marketing is often effective because email addresses can be cheaply purchased and reused over and over again - assuming you do a good job advertising. Poor advertising or campaigns that reads like spam will likely be ignored and you may forever lose potential sales. If done well, it will only attract more customers.

Another important thing to keep in mind is whether you are selling a niche product or something the majority of people would be interested in. Also keep in mind the price range you are marketing to, as the more expensive items are less likely to sell and cheap items will not cover the cost of advertisements.

Email advertisement is one of the most simple ways to make your presence known to the online community, so don't miss out! Use it to get attention from people at large, but remember to spread out your advertisements and focus on other ways to grab the attention of your niche market as well.
