Ok, since the intention of this article is to give you some ammo, and get you results fast, I'm going to hop right into the strategy. I'm going to just give you my personal four step traffic creation strategy, and you need to do it consistently to get dramatic results. What I'm going to encourage you to do is to run through the whole strategy once per day. If, however you are strapped for time, this can be scaled back to once every seven days. Alright, let's get on with the strategy:
1. Step one is to make a piece of educational content. It doesn't have to be the best content in the world, it just needs to be useful and educational in nature. Pretty much no matter what you do, you're not going to be able to completely predict where the majority of your traffic will come from. There are a lot of gurus that try to teach you how to only tackle the big babies, but you'll be better off writing lots of articles than you will trying to write the perfect one. Videos work this way too. All you have to worry about is creating a lot of useful information and getting out there on a website of some kind. You could put it on a blog, an article site, or a video site if that's your gig.
2. Step two is to make a video announcing your article, and broadcast your video to the video sharing sites. I like video marketing because it's easy to do, they get picked up by the search engines faster than anything else around, and it gets you traffic ridiculously fast. Confused? Simply sit in front of a camera and talk about your exciting new article for 30 seconds. I utilize a program called Traffic Geyser to promote my videos, because Traffic Geyser is awesome and it's super easy to use. More importantly, though, it works. Point the link in the video back to the source of your original piece of content. You can use an awesome free service called TubeMogul as well, but it's not nearly as effective in Traffic Geyser.
3. In the third step, you just write an original, short article and you broadcast it to the article directories, pointing the article back to your original content. I like articles because they rank really well in the search engines and they get you long term, residual traffic if you use them consistently. Articles also have a cool side effect of making you appear as the expert in your specific niche. You've just got to keep using them. I also use automated software to broadcast my articles.
4. Do it every day. Look, this system will work well for you if you follow it consistently over time. The funny thing is, this will still work even if your content isn't the best in the cyber universe. The cool thing is that this four step process works even if your content isn't the best around. (Of course, it will work much better if they're killer). You need to do this consistently for the next 100 days to get the same kind of results that myself and others have.
Why 100 days? It's simple, because if you do what I just mentioned for the next 100 days, you'll have so much traffic, links to your site, and leads coming through whatever system that you use, that you'll flip out with excitement. (It works that well). Stick with it my friends and I'll see you at the top of the search engines.
