Ibiza has over eighty beaches around dotted around its shoreline. In fact the beauty of the area is that you can choice a beach according to how you feel in the moment and whether you are seeking tranquillity or activity. Then it's never longer than half an hour to travel from a beach on one side of the island to another. Cala Brassa is a large beach with beautiful white sand. It is in the middle of nowhere and enjoyed by the clubbers, but has a regular ferry service from San Antonio. There are various restaurants to cater for your needs, facilities for mooring boats and fishing, as well as parking, showers and toilets.
Cala Benirras lies between San Miguel and San Joan. It is a lovely beach with light coloured sand, a cool rustic bar and an enormous rock that looks like a clenched fist, which is perfect for snorkelling around. This beach can be difficult to reach unless you have transport, as there is no bus service. Aqua Blanca in San Carlos is one of the official nudist beaches on Ibiza and it is also a good place to swim and snorkel. This three hundred metre long beach has toast coloured sand and a couple of restaurants and bars.
Figueretas Beach is the only beach in Ibiza town. It is surrounded by smart hotels and has a cosmopolitan atmosphere. As it is not a large beach it fills up quickly, forcing many people to walk to Playa d'en Bossa around the corner. Playa d'en Bossa is one of the longest beaches on the island. It's great if you love loud music and it has more than fifty bars. It is also popular with families and has a number of water skiing and windsurfing schools.
Cala Jondel is considered by many to be the smartest beach in Ibiza and is very popular with boat owners. However a car will be necessary as it is way off the beaten track, but this beautiful beach with crystal clear waters is surrounded by jagged cliff and pines and is situated in a conservation area. If you enjoy walking or have a healthy dog that needs a lot of exercise, then you are likely to place Talamanca as one of your top 10 beaches in Ibiza. Although not the prettiest of beaches, it's long and close to Ibiza town.
Cala d'es Torrent is on the south side of the island and is served well by buses. The bay is sheltered and has loads of amenities including banana boats, loungers, umbrellas, restaurants and bars.
Cala Des Xuclear is situated between a series of low cliffs at the mouth of a small river and is the ideal place to get away from it all. The clear blue water makes it ideal for snorkelling and there is a small beach bar and kiosk with an excellent fish restaurant. Niu Blau is a sandy beach with a bar at either end that host parties and serve local dishes. Other activities include pedaloes, waterskiing and banana boats or you can walk along the coastal path to Cala Martina.
