Playing pool is a fun activity especially when it is played with friends. Try these pool shooting tips and you’re on your way ahead on graduating as a beginner.

First is the bridge. Place the bridge hand flat on the pool table, and then pull your fingers back towards your palm while keeping your fingers and wrist flat on the table. Continue by pulling your thumb up higher than your index finger. Make sure that it is steady and does not wobble. Do not make your shot unless you are certain that your bridge is stable.

Next matter is the hold. Once the cue ball is placed properly, get ready to shoot. Place the stick on your bridge hand and hold the stick with your free hand. Remember to grip the butt of the stick gently, with your wrist straight and not turned inward. Let the butt of the stick rest on your fingertips. As you take a few strokes, look at your backhand. Check whether it makes a ninety-degree angle. While stroking the stick, make sure that your shoulder is locked in place, only swing at the elbow. Move your backhand either back or forth of the stick until your elbow forms an approximate ninety-degree angle. This is very important in pool shooting because making the shot without the right form will only make you throw the shot and miss.

Sharpen your gliding technique by practicing. Always watch your cue tip as your stroke and make sure that is does not move towards left or right. Practice the technique with slow strokes first. Once you get a good forward motion, continue with faster strokes.

If you use your left hand as the bridge, the left leg should then be the one close to the table and vice versa for the right hand. As you get into your shot, step your bridge side leg towards the object ball into the pocket. Move your feet a hips width apart and bend your knees slightly while doing so.

These are some of the pool shooting tips to keep in mind to develop your bridge, hold, gliding skill and stance.
