If you want to know how to cure a yeast infection, you first should know what it is and how you can get one. Candida is another term used for a yeast infection. It is an infection caused by a yeast fungus in the body

Many people often associate yeast infections with women, but men, babies and teenagers can also get it. The most common location for a woman to get yeast is in her vaginal area, while for a man, it is on his penis. Babies can get yeast as a part of a diaper rash. Another common place is in the mouth - this is also called oral thrush and can be very painful in severe cases where there are painful blisters inside the mouth - including the gums, tongue, even the tonsils.

How do people get yeast? There are several reasons. One is from the overuse of antibiotics. The antibiotics are prescribed generally to kill a virus, however in getting rid of a virus, the medicine often kills the 'good bacteria' that is needed within the human body to keep candida levels at appropriate levels. Another reason (particulary for men ) is through sexual activity with an infected partner. People who are at risk for getting yeast outbreaks are those with a weakened immune system, such as cancer or HIV patients.

Treatments for yeast cures vary - doctors can prescribe antifungal medications which for many people can do the trick. However, for others, it is much more difficult to get rid of a recurring yeast infection. For these people, it is recommended that they try some home remedies that can get to the root of the problem. Some typical home natural remedies that can be used to cure a yeast infection from the privacy of home. Remedies can include tea tree oil as well as apple cider vinegar. Yogurt is another popular cure and can be used both internally and externally (topically). Another remedy includes changes in the diet to eliminate (or greatly reduce) sugar levels. Yeast feeds off of sugar in the body - reduced amounts of glucose in the bloodstream does not offer an envonment that yeast can thrive in. This is one of the reasons that diabetics have frequent recurring yeast outbreaks as their blood sugar levels often fluxuate, causing frquent shifts (up and down) of candida yeast levels in the bloodstream.

Special care must be taken to eliminate yeast in the body, or you will be at risk of getting a systemic yeast infection wheras the internal organs are affected - and permanent damange can occur.
