If you find your skin continuously drying out either as a result of harsh acne medications and facial cleansers or just as a natural result of your skin type, you are not alone. Millions of people find themselves in need of regular dry skin therapy.

There are many remedies on the market right now, but what exactly should you be looking for in this type of skin care product?

First of all, you want to look for those remedies that use natural active ingredients. Look for labels that ensure the products are chemical and toxin free or organic. Then, you have to look a little closer.

What are the main active ingredients in each product you come across? You want to ensure that the main ingredients are proven to actually improve dry skin without creating other skin problems. The following ingredients are just a couple you might want to look closely at.

Oils

Most therapy products will include some type of oils, but some use types of oils that are cheap to purchase. The problem is many of these cheaper oils will clog up the pores and can lead to acne problems. You don't want to exchange dry skin for acne!

Look for lighter oils that are more beneficial than harmful, such as macadamia oil and avocado oil. They are lighter and less likely to clog the pores than heavier options like mineral oil. Mineral may be listed as petroleum or paraffin wax, and it should be avoided if at all possible.

Deep Hydration Ingredients

There are lots of ingredients that can be used to rehydrate the skin, but you should look for those that go deeper into lower skin layers. Ingredients that do not penetrate into deeper layers of the skin are not as effective at healing dry skin in the long term.

One active ingredient proven to go deeper into the skin and bring about great rehydration results is Rigin. This is a nutrient for your skin that naturally restores moisture.

Not only should you look for products which include high quality ingredients such as these, but you need to check how much of these ingredients are used. The best remedies will consist of at least 50% active ingredients. That means no more than half of the product should be made up of secondary ingredients.

In most cases, dry skin therapy products that include higher concentrations of the appropriate active ingredients will have other natural properties as well. For instance, many will exclude fragrances and harsh chemical fillers as well.
