Removal of window tinting could be a difficult and messy process if one does not identify the best and simplest way to go about it. Although there are various procedures to go about it, the process can be summarised in three simple steps. These include gathering materials, removal of film} and cleaning of the windows after the process. The materials needed in the removal of tint from the window generally differ and depend on the procedure that's looking to use to get rid of the film. If one opts to steam the film off, the list of materials might be rather short. This is because one is needed to get a clothing steamer the number will rely on the amount of space from which the tint is removed.

Other tools or materials concerned will include a long extension rope, a number of rags, a cup or bottle full of water and Windex. If one is looking to use razor blades one may need a number of other items aside from Windex which is also required. Ammonia that's not diluted, tarp, fine steel wool, paper towels and a garbage bag are also needed. However, one will need to carry this out on a bright day. To use the soak and scrape approach one requires a razor blade, some water and glass cleaner and paper towels. The soak and scrape strategy is the simplest as it can be finished in a number of simple steps though it might take more time as compared to other strategies. Once the materials are prepared, one wishes to cut a little part with razor blade to create a tab from where they can be in a position to pull.

The film is then peeled off and the adhesive is sprayed using water. It is then scraped off using the razor blade and the window is at last cleaned to end the process. Since the razor can become blunt, one may have to use several before the process is over. The steaming approach is also very easy as one begins by steaming a chunk of the tint. The steamers should be held at least 5 centimeters way from the film. This is sufficient for one to pick the tint yet far enough to help avoid injury from the steam. One is expected to peel while they steam. Even then the peeling should be done slowly repeatedly so as to have both layers come off intact hence avoid complicating the method. After this is done, any remaining film or glue could be wiped off employing a towel. If the glue is too hard it might be steamed and then removed.

this may be done over the entire area after which the surface should be cleaned completely. In the Ammonia and sun technique, one generally begins by spraying a section of the tint using ammonia. This is consequently covered by a rubbish bag ideally plastic. The tarp is used to cover and so protect the other parts around the area from Ammonia.
