Looking at it in a historical perspective, it shows how beneficial it has been and it will be for humankind. So far, it is underrated but is gaining an increasing following due to people's response on environmental issues. Beyond just aesthetic experience, windmill power supplies us an easy energy fountain. Not to mention that our forefathers have benefited from it a lot.

So how does it operate?

Fifteen centuries ago, during the time windmills were initially put to use, they are supposed to bring water in Persia. By then, with just an elongated axis, it doesn't look like how we can describe it today; years passed and windmills ended up becoming effective farm tools in Europe. Through windmill power, flour was produced from grind corn and grains of other kinds. It is by this period that windmills evolved to an appearance such as what we see nowadays.


Through history, windmills didn't surpass being just a structure that provides plain convenience. These days, however, it has become a primary option for affordable energy. Due to strengthened efforts of various groups calling for a better environment, there is an increase in the number of people putting attention to the process of wind power.

It may seem complex at first, but windmill operation is pretty much comprehensible. If assembled right, windmills will yield will serve its purpose well, which is to produce electricity - residential or corporate.

Architectural wonder that it is, windmills are designed to capture the wind's kinetic energy. While the blades are actually a prominent part of the structure, it is more than that. The blades are joined to a shaft and then to a generator that collects the energy gathered by the blades.


In every possible way, windmills offer a lot of benefits, particularly European countries such as Holland. Natives of these nations maximize windmills to have energy to light their houses. Presently, wind turbines have been the evolved name of windmills. Open areas like farms are the best places to build this structure since it's very strategic to store electricity in these places.

How windmills work is essential to our life, no matter where in the world we may be. Now that our environment needs healing, we need to turn more to renewable sources of energy such as windmills instead of the usual. The good thing is, windmills that depend on wind alone produce no emissions, which means, it does nothing to harm mother earth. Right now, windmills produce below 50% of the electricity we needed but they sure present a nice option for humankind.

In this times that mother nature is ailing, understanding the process of how windmill power operates should come very handy since there is a need for renewable energy sources. Just by wind alone, it doesn't risk our environment in any way. As of late, windmills provide barely 50% of the world's demand for electricity. Nonetheless, it is certainly one of the best choices available for the human race.
