• Speed – easy to use, faster transactions, quick stock enquiries
• Accuracy – no room for human error, stock figures up to date and correct
• Track sales and produce totals easily
• Integrated chip and pin for credit card transactions

There are many benefits an Electronic Point of Sale (EPOS) system can provide for a retail business. Firstly an EPOS allows for transactions to happen very quickly, without the need for keyed-in input, thereby reducing the risk of user error considerably. With prices already programmed into the system the accuracy of each sale is assured and takings figure calculations are also reliable.

Touch screens, along with a friendly display layout make it easy and fast to use. It is also straight forward to check the details on the item, such as the current price, current stock, the quantity on order etc. The sage software system also allows for accurate and up-to-date stock levels, which can make re-ordering more efficient.

Easy chip and pin integration, with total amounts payable transferred to the pin pad, again without user input, also reduces the risk of human error and speeds up the payment process, therefore reducing queues at the till point and increasing the level of service to the customer.

Sage EPOS software is capable of linking into Sage accounting software thus saving many hours of time inputting data and making life so much easier for your book-keeper and accountant. Sales figures are updated every day at a click of a button.

Another advantage is that you can customise the buttons or so called hot keys to your preference; you can have layers of categories to drill down to individual products, or alternatively just assign products to the hot keys from the home screen.

You can have a number of till users, with varying access levels, such as managers, supervisor and normal operators. The operators, for example, could be restricted to certain basic functions.

Tills also offer a store away function, so once a transaction is started it can be stored away, and brought back whenever it is required to complete the transaction. Transactions can be posted to account as a method of payment as well, so that they can be transferred within the accounting software and invoices created later.
Many EPOS systems also offer basic reporting, but when linked to Sage accounting systems a wide range of other reports become available which are certain to help and assist your business.

It is also possible to have A4 printing as well as the standard receipt printing available, this is ideal for a trade counter scenarios, where delivery notes or invoices can be printed at the point of sale for the account customer to sign or take with them.
