Have you ever been a long way away from those who you enjoy being close to? It can be a tough situation, or maybe you have been at work and need to communicate with those who are on the other side of the world, possibly just a simple check up call on a family member. We all have been in these situations before, so I would like to talk about a few telecommunication miracles in our time.
- Cell phone technology: Cell phones are, in my opinion, one of the greatest inventions ever. They allow a person to communicate with virtually anyone from almost any place. Cell phones are practically becoming little hand held computers which can be taken from place to place. Feel free to access the internet, check email, text message, listen to music, and oh yeah; call people. With thousands of options available and prices which are virtually unbelievable, anyone can communicate at anytime. Unless you don’t like to be contacted, these are the next best things to hot chocolate in the winter.
- Blue Tooth Technology: Honestly, does it get any better than this? A while back I was at work and the power went out. Being an Internet Company, this is a nightmare, because we rely so heavily upon it. No problem. A guy in the office had blue tooth technology through his cell phone, within in minutes he had an internet reception coming in from his cell phone serving as a wireless connection. Boom! We were live. Granted, it was only on one computer, but it was a small company and that was all we needed. Soon the power was back up and the situation was back under control.
- Automated Phone System: I know, I know, if you are truly trying to get a hold of someone, these can be a pain, but if you are a small business and are constantly on the phone, these are one of the best ways to meet your customer’s needs. Direct your phone calls to those who can answer questions most accurately and save time for the customers. It is a win-win situation for all who are involved. Granted that the phone system is not an avoidance strategy, but that is a whole different issue.
- Voip System: Well, I have made reference to the internet a few times in the course of this article. These types of systems are unique because they allow you to use the telephone while using your internet connection. Get rid of the phone bill; just consolidate your phone and internet bill into one! Your phone line won’t hook up to a regular phone jack in the wall; rather your phone is connected to an Ethernet connection, allowing you to talk on the phone over the internet. Now we are talking free long distance! Yeah, that sounds like a miracle doesn’t it!
