How is your style defined? When you’re young, your style is defined by your parents. You wear what they tell you to wear or you are made to go change. But even young children have a sense of style and know what they want to wear, even if their parents disagree. Why are we talking about style today? In part due to my daughter.

My daughter is a precocious five years old. She’s just started kindergarten and that means that now I have to actually think about what I’m going to dress her in during the day. Before, when she was not in school, she could wear what she wanted. I had no problem letting her dress herself, so she would often wind up with strange concoctions, mixing pinks and reds together and carrying around a pretend designer handbag while she was at it. While this was absolutely fine for around the house, and even for a trip or two to the grocery store, there is no way that I was going to be sending her to school looking like she’d just fallen out of a very disorganized closet.

So I began to try to figure out what clothes I wanted her to wear to school, and she let me know very quickly that she had an opinion about what she was going to be wearing. Every time we were in a store she would tell me that this outfit was ugly, or that the dress I was holding was “yucky”. The words weren’t sophisticated, but it became clear very quickly that her taste in clothes was.

It lead me to wonder how we enjoy the styles that we do. What, for instance, makes one woman love the classic style, while another dresses like she came from the 60’s. What makes one woman cling to her jeans, and another shy away from anything denim?

Your Style

Some believe that it’s a combination of things. They feel that it is what you see as you are growing up that influences what you wear. For instance if your mother has a number of classically styled designer handbags, you’re more likely to enjoy the classic style of handbags. I, however, disagree. My style is very different from my mothers, and my daughters style is far different than mine (she loves dresses, I’m the one who clings to her jeans).

One good thing about replica designer handbags, however, is that there is a bag for every style. It doesn’t matter what style you like, you’ll be able to find a cheap designer handbag that will be exactly what you’re looking for. The Black Gaucho Small Saddle bag, for instance, is a bag that wouldn’t necessarily appeal to everyone, but is a bag that would appeal to many. This bag is one that is great for casual use and is very comfortable, as it slings over the shoulder.

The truth is that it doesn’t matter how you got your style – what’s more important is that you celebrate your personal style every day.
