Security Cameras - Why Use Hidden Video Cameras?

Security cameras don't just have to be used for crime prevention. You can use them to get proof about who's dog is making a mess in your front yard. You caught someone sneaking around your property, but could not get a good look at him although you are pretty sure he looked familiar. The perfect solution to this one is a camera that is camouflaged as a floodlight. It is motion activated and feeds a video signal to an internal video recorder. The intruder is being recorded and doesn't even know it. The police love it. More detailed information available here: Security Cameras

Technology is racing forward so quickly that even the technophiles are getting lost in the dust of progress. Not that many years ago, a hidden video camera was not really easy to hide because they were so bulky and unreliable. Now, almost anybody can afford one that is tough as nails, reliable as the suns coming up and cheap.

If you own any kind of business, you certainly feel the bite of employee theft. Money or product is missing. Your inventory numbers never seem to match up. Installing a hidden video camera would allow you to record what is being stolen, how and by whom. A man I know owned a liquor store. Product was missing and it took months for him to discover a janitor bringing it out the back door in a garbage bag. A security camera hidden in the exit sign above the door would of made short work of catching the thief.

Unlike older technology, the video security cameras mentioned above do not need a central receiver. They have tons of on board memory on something called an sv card. You hide the camera where you want, let it record when you want it to and then download the images to your computer. The cameras have motion sensors that trigger it to record only when there is movement and you can even program the machine to avoid certain areas as where animals might go or little kids playing.

Hidden video cameras are incredibly flexible. These are just two examples of their features.

Remember, these security cameras don't need to be wired to a network or even be in a position to allow a wireless signal to get through. Install it anywhere and suck the information off of it later to your computer. Most come with motion sensor programming.

Where to hide them? Here are a few ideas. You can hide them in exit signs, wall clocks, coffee makers, floodlights, or garden ornaments. You name it.

As incredible as these devices are, bear in mind that they never stopped one crime. They only gather evidence that can't be argued away. To actually prevent crime, you want to install highly visible cameras. How to do this effectively will be the subject of the next article.
