Since times immemorial man has been surrounded and engulfed by many unknown fears and apprehension. The fear of death tops them all. Every one of us holds our most dear to us. We hate to lose it. Life is precious for all. Despite all this, we cannot blink the fact that every soul must taste death sooner or later. Death is inevitable. It is an ultimate and irrefutable truth. No great scientist has ever produced the antidote of death.
It is, therefore, important to reconcile with this bitter fact that we, after passing our prescribed period in this world, have to leave for the next world--- the permanent and everlasting world. To alleviate the fear of death, it is imperative for all of us to realize that this world is fleeting and short-lived. By absorbing ourselves in worldly pursuits, we lose sight of our real objective---- To please Almighty God to be successful in this world and the Hereafter. The excessive worldly desires blur our vision and cloud our minds. We have witnessed many of us being completely engaged to make the most of this world, having inordinate desire to achieve all the material objects. In the words of Wordsworth, "The world is too much with us". In this materialistic ere, we have overlooked and ignored the very basic fact that one day we all have to die. We have to leave all these luxuries behind us. Our worldly success will be of no use in the next life.
It goes without saying that a man having no skeleton in his closet fears nothing. His conscience is clear. He fears no one, not even death. Death is not to be feared if we are following the commandment of God in true sense of word and in letter and spirit. Following the right path and adopting all the moral and ethical values, warding of all evil and resisting the temptations of Satan will evaporate all the fears from our heart and make our strong and confident.
We will all be accountable, for our deeds here in this world, on the Day of Judgment. We must know that our real test starts after this world. The success of this world bears no comparison with that of Hereafter. Therefore, if we are fully prepared for the next world, we are going to welcome death with open arms, for it is a harbinger of our permanent and everlasting life in the world to come.
A heart free from evils, vices, sins, bias, grudges and hatred will have no fear of any kind whatsoever. Live your life as if you were appearing in test. The result of this test will be announced in the Hereafter. If we do so, we will have no fear of death.
