And of course going as Barack Obama himself makes sense as one of the better 2007 halloween costumes in a 2009 world. Obama was a public, national figure starting in 2004 when he made a famous address to the Democratic Nomination Conference that received plaudits throughout the country. But he became a household name only in 2007 when he began his run for the presidency - a run that was originally dismissed as the consummate darkhorse, but a run that eventually landed him in the white house.
