As someone who takes these capsules regularly I wanted to know a bit more about what goes inside them and DHA fish oil appears to be the experts choice as being one of the better essential fatty acids. We need them to help important body organs like your brain and heart function correctly.

This particular omega 3 compound has to be got from our diet and if you are not used to eating enough fatty fish like salmon, tuna or sardines then supplementation is the next best thing. Actually taking fish oils supplements may even be the healthier option here.

That's because too much seafood these days seems to be tainted by pollutants in the sea like mercury, which then enter the food chain and end up in the food we eat. Contrast that with the multi stage purification process that is involved in getting something like DHA fish oil into the capsules, which is effective in removing most impurities like mercury.

Many good quality supplements will show the amount in terms of a figure in milligrams. It's also common to find another equally good quality fatty acid known as EPA alongside it, so do take notice of their combined dosage. A high amount is what we need to be looking for and I for one look to take about 1000mg a day. This appears to be the point at which many of the boosts to our health start to take effect.

If what you are taking at the moment is well below this amount then consider making a change next time you make a purchase, bearing in mind that any new supplement contains sufficient DHA fish oil.

My main site gives many more useful tips to help you pick an effective capsule, that is also good value and better for your long term health, which is the number one reason we take them.
